Ilkka is committed to collaborating with businesses and investors to solve complex sustainability challenges

Ilkka has several years of experience solving problems across the sustainability spectrum including within the food industry, sustainable finance and behavioural science. His past experiences increased his understanding about how integrating sustainability across business can unlock environmental, social and economic success. Prior to this, Ilkka attained an MSc in Carbon Management from University of Edinburgh, where his research explored the impacts of and potential solutions to climate change for a Danish specialty-coffee roastery.

Having joined Sancroft in 2021, Ilkka has been working to help corporates and financial institutions to realise the benefits of sustainability. He has specific expertise across sustainable food systems and has worked with several FTSE food retailers to assess and evaluate the ESG risks associated with their value chain, enabling them to future-proof their procurement decisions. Ilkka is also experienced in ESG integration having worked with a range of asset managers across real assets and private equity. He holds a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute. Ilkka also serves as secretary for The International Association for Catalytic Control of Ship Emissions to Air (IACCSEA), responsible for co-ordinating and engaging with international stakeholders to drive cleaner and greener shipping.
